Morning visit to Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City, the complex of imperial palaces which were home to the Emperors for over 500 years. Morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam at Sandouping, the largest in the world. Later sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks and later sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges. Afternoon Tribe of the Three Gorges shore excursion (river conditions permitting), offering an interesting glimpse into life in the Xiling Gorge region. (BLD)
Take an excursion through the Goddess Stream Small Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Enter Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty, forest-covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic gorge. Afternoon shore excursion to White Emperor City (river conditions permitting), an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge. (BLD)
Shore excursion to Fengdu, visiting either the “Ghost City”, known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill, or the new relocation village built for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze’s rising waters brought about by the Three Gorges Dam. Afternoon shore excursion to Shibaozhai (river conditions permitting), with its impressive wooden pagoda, appropriately named “The Pearl of the Yangtze” (BLD)
Disembark and visit the Three Yangtze Gorges Museum and covered market. Fly to Xian for two nights at the Grand New World Hotel. Optional evening Tang- era music and dinner dance performance. (BL)

Large fleet and expert crew
Victoria Cruises own and operate one of the Yangtze’s largest five-star fleet which are regularly refurbished and upgraded. There are seven ships, the Victoria Anna, Grace, Jenna, Katarina, Lianna, Selina and Sophia, each managed by an experienced western cruise director supported by a team of knowledgeable river guides and a well-trained, multi-lingual crew. Guests may attend lectures on the Yangtze, Chinese history, culture and traditional medicine. Calligraphy, painting and Tai Chi lessons are also available.
Cuisine
Each Victoria cruise ship features a Dynasty Dining Room where buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are served whilst the captain’s farewell dinner will be a grander sit down banquet. All vessels also boast an A La Carte Restaurant and both Western and Chinese cuisine is served on board. Superior cabin guests can book the A La Carte Restaurant at a supplement of USD 45 per meal, and enjoy exquisite dining in an intimate setting.
Facilities on board
The signature style of all Victoria’s ships is one of luxury and elegance with Asian accents. Tastefully-appointed cabins, striking atriums and immaculate public rooms and polished woods create a delightful ambience. The open sun deck has 360-degree views and cabins have wide panoramic windows.
